Dreaming of Down Under
If money were no object, where would you travel? This country was the biggest vote getter among Americans.
If money were no object, where would you travel? For many Americans, the answer is Australia, according to the first-ever U.S. Traveler Survey by Ipsos, completed for vacation accommodations company Vrbo. Of course, money is, indeed, a factor when choosing where to travel, which helps to explain why Australia actually ranked as the 18th-most-visited destination by American travelers last year. Interestingly, Millennials (those ages 18 to 34) are the most likely to go into debt to make their travel dreams come true; 37 percent said they would travel now and pay later, compared with 27 percent of Gen Xers and just 15 percent of Baby Boomers. One thing travelers of all ages share in common, according to the survey: we enjoy traveling with family and friends.
